Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son was hit in the ribs in football. He has a bump on his ribs since the day it happend about a month ago. The bump still bothers him if he gets hit and says it bothers him when he runs. Will this bump go away. It is a hard bump that feels like bone.
It can be a fracture which has healed partially.and this bump is accumulation of calcium at fracture site which is also called as callus. I would suggest you to avoid rubbing or any massage in that area. I would also assure you that it is not very serious and it will be normal in some months.
