What Causes Bumps Around My Child's Mouth After Feeding Butter Toast?

Gave 1 yr old some peanut butter toast and I noticed a bump forming around her mouth. I stopped feeding it to her and she seemed fine then a couple other bumps started to form. Then they went away and then she started rubbing her eyes. I looked in them and they turned red. I gave her Benadryl about 10mins ago. Should I take her to the ER?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

That could be because of allergy to what ever she has consumed. Rubbing of eyes may also be related to that. A doctor should examine her to rule out any respiratory problem is there or not. So I suggest you to consult ER for a physical examination.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
