What Causes Burnt-smell From Stool After Having Miralax?
I have had loose stools diahrea for over a week now. We recently returned from Ecuador during which I was fine. I used Miralax the entire time I was there. Now I notice a burnt-smell coming from my stools. What could be the cause. I had Lymphoma last year. It was in my neck a I had 6 rounds of 74 hour tx in the hospital. I have been in remission for one year now. Please advise me. I plan to call my GP today.
Usually this smell is associated with iron in the stools, which comes from bleeding. I'd be worried that you'd either have an ulcer in your stomach, or some other source of GI bleeding. I'd see your GP and I'd have him do a fecal occult test for blood in your stool.
I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
