What Causes Canker Sores On The Mouth After Taking Cymbalta?
I was recently put on Cymbalta; it worked well for my depression and pain; however; I have developed canker sores in my mouth and nasal passages are very dry and congested like. are these side effects ? If so; what do you recommend ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain canker sores seems to be due to allergic reaction to medicine Cymbalta [duloxetine] while dry nasal passages is also due to side effect of the medicine leading to reduced secretions.. You should consult your treating physician and get evaluated and explain the immediate symptoms and either dose adjustments or change of the drug can help in improving the symptoms.. As of now you can take a supportive treatment like if there is pain in the sores in mouth you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash. You can take Ibuprofen.. Sucking ice pops can help.. Drink plenty of water.. For dry nasal passages saline nasal irrigation can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
