What Causes Chest And Back Pain Along With Phlegm Discharge?

Yes. 1 month ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia, for which I was given 3 rounds of antibiotics. The last time I saw the doctor was 2 weeks ago during which time I was diagnosed with pleurisy. Since then my chest, back, and sides have been hurting whether I am breathing or holding my breath. I have also had some numbness on my right side near my ribcage. Also, tonight I coughed up thick white phlegm that tastes really bad. I haven t eaten any dairy products within the last 3 days to waive the possibility of it s causing the consistency of the phlegm. What is going on with me?

Phlegm is from collection in your lung and pain all around chest is due to pleural irritation. Consult chest physician as soon as possible and get chest Xray done. Do culture and sensitivity of expectorant for selecting antibiotics.amd take antibiotics for prolonged duration. All the best.
