Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

There should be no chest pain following change in the brand of medicine since all brands contain the same salt in the same dose.

It is therefore possible that either, the salt has degenerated; the salt is not being released regularly as it should; or, there is a manufacturing defect.

You may therefore consult your doctor and request him to prescribe the medicine of a different company or, a substitute drug, such as, Glyceryl trinitrate ER (GTN ER) is equivalent dose.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
