What Causes Chest Pain After Treated For Food Poisoning?

My son has food poisoning. The nausea and vomiting have subsided but now he is complaining of chest pain. It hurts worse when lying down, feels better when sitting up
but still hurts. On a scale of 0 to 10 for pain he says it's about a six or seven. Should we go to ER?

Dear- thanks for using our service. Chest pain after food poisoning is mostly from the esophageal irritation after multiples vomits, the acid reflux that accompanied the vomit and increased abdominal gas . He should be in a bland diet for few days after the food poisoning to help the intestines to recover from it.If he has severe pain or still vomiting, you might need to take him to ER to avoid dehydration and more complications.
I hope that my advise has been helpful
