What Causes Chest Pain And Headache After Swimming?

My daughter who is 10 years old swam/played in the pool last Sat and Sun for about 4 hours each day. For the last 2-3 days she has been complaining of chest pain that comes and goes. She describes it like a headache in her chest. Also, her left ear is hurting a bit as well. What could the pain in her chest possibly be?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

This might be from stretching or straining of muscles from the long exertion. If there is no fever, cough or cold, just give her Acetaminophen 2-3 times daily for 3 days. Most probably she will be fine by then; else we can evaluate further.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
