What Causes Chest Pain And Wheezing While On Albuterol?

Hi, I recently was diagnosed with influenza A. I feel better from that and was on doxycycline. In the mean time I have had chest pain, wheezing, and keep spitting up phlegm. The phlegm is not blood tinged or rusty in color. I was given an albuterol puffer but the pain is quite intense in the posterior base of my left lobe. No matter when I cough I keep bringing up stuff. A chest X-ray was done on 2/25 and I was told it was fine. I am quite worried about this breathing and I have never wheezed in my life and I am quite quite SOB on exertion?? Any suggestions? This illness started on 2/22 and I am still dealing with this. I did get my flu shot and my pneumonia vaccine in 2013.....

Cannot say in your particular case without examination. There can be heart trouble that causes congestion, cough and chest pain. Personally, I haven't seen that and I've seen hundreds of patients in which the lung infection caused inflammation that sticks for weeks after the infection is gone. Monteleucast has fixed it in about an hour in well over half of those with inflammation after infection.
