What Causes Chest Pain?

I am 80 yrs old and good health. I do tradmill every morning for 30 minutes. I walk and run on tradmill. Work 10 to 12 hrs a day on computer. Keep myself very active outside with organisations. I had severe pain a week ago on middle right side of my chest. Got x-rays and my Primary doctor says that I have Degenerative thorax of my upper back. I do not have any pain now. Doctor suggesting to take Physical Therapy. My question is that I do not have the same pain for a week now and if the PT is not going to get rid of it how the PT is helping me. Will Endoscopy get rid of it?Thanks.Prabhat Kaikini

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .

First of all we need to properly know what is causing your pain . Just an X ray will not be sufficient to diagnose the severity of Degenerative Spine disease . I advise you get MRI thoracic Spine done and revert back to me . Depending on the finding I can tell you whether Physical therapy will resolve your problem or not .

If your problem is mild then yes Physical therapy can solve it ( means it will give long time relief not cure ).

So more than Endoscopy I advise MRI thoracic Spine . Also get your Serum Calcium and Serum Vitamin D3 test done and revert back with reports .

Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask.
Happy to help you.
Regards.
