What Causes Chronic Nausea After Discontinuing Percocet?
It's been 2.5 weeks since I received surgery to straighten a transverse numeral fracture with plate and screws. The incision is healing nicely, but I still have burning radial nerve pain, which my orthopaedic doctor says is likely due to the nerve being irritated. The problem is I've taken myself off Percocet ( now 24 hrs clear) but my appetite is low due to chronic nausea. Any idea how long the nausea could persist?
I can understand your concern. Percocet is Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. Oxycodone is an opioid drug and if you have taken the drug regularly and now stopped abruptly then there is risk of withdrawal.
The symptoms you have like nausea, reduced appetite are most likely due to Oxycodone withdrawal. But these symptoms should go by own in about a couple of days and then in around a week you will feel better. If symptoms persists then talk with your doctor for help. For muscular pain you can use any non-opioid muscle relaxant.
Thanks and Take care
