Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Your concern is understandable.
As an Urologist, i must advise you, that after radiation treatment, many people develop inflammation of the inside lining of the bladder called Cystitis.
This is the most likely cause for the bleeding, other than urinary infections.
Flushing out the clots with irrigation, is the only way to get it out. To prevent a urinary infection, an antibiotic solution irrigation does help.
There are medicines to stop theese kind of bleeding, which your doctor will be able to prescribe.
Wishing a speedy recovery to your husband.
