Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past month, I have been constantly getting stomach bloating. I am not sure if I am eatting certain food that gave me these symptoms (gases). I have a habit of eatting oatmeal every morning. Anything related to this that made me feel worse now? What should I try to eat to prevent bloating?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Stop oatmeal and see if the bloating gets controlled.
There are many reasons for bloating: • Aerophagia, particularly due to stress and anxiety. • Foods particularly nuts of any origin can cause gas and bloating. • Subacute intestinal infection with overgrowth of gas-producing bacteria and can be cured by a course of an antibiotic. • Intolerance to certain foods and beverages that you have to find out. • Take probiotics, eat and drink slowly, and no aerated drinks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
