What Causes Constant Cough In The Night In Children?

my 5 year old will start coughing every night close to bed time. She is not always laying down when this happens. She also has this every morning. She has had tubes in her ears, tonsils and adnoids already removed. I hate the thought of giving her cold meds every night....thoughts.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
The symptoms you quoted are suggestive of a hyperactive airway disease which in simple terms means allergic symptoms something similar to asthma. The cough can be due to hyperreactivity of your child's airways. Her adenoids and tonsils been removed puts her in the list of highly sensitive child because her immunity power would have been decreased. Your child needs to see a pediatrician and If I were him, would have started you child on inhalers which can be of great help for her in reducing her discomfort. Happy to help with any further queries. Take care.
