What Causes Constant Hunger In A Child?

My daughter is 10 years old. She is constantly saying she is hungry. Sometimes she forgets we ate dinner a half an hour before and says she is hungry. She is active and not overweight at all. She is very tall for her age. She has always been in the 100% range for her height. Is it just because she is growing? My son was nothing like this at all.

Hello,

I really appreciate your concern, although excessive eating may not be the sign of disease it needs to be ruled out for endocrine dysfunction. Sometimes, it could be due to hormone changes but it may not be an illness unless it is being diagnosed clinical some kind of syndrome or systemic disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
