What Causes Constant Pain In Knee?

I am getting pain in the back of my right leg a little bit above the knee. On and off for years and it only happens after sitting for a long time. It has now spread to the outside of my right knee.. Not any back issues. have had that checked out thoroughly already. What could be the cause? No injuries to that area. Did possibly tear the hamstring, but that was over 7 years ago.

Hello,
I have studied your case and I think this is not hamstrings tear , rather you are having cartilage softening, also called as Chondromalacia Patella. In this condition there is problem in squatting, sitting cross leg and stair climbing. I have following suggestions for you.
1. Avoid any exercises like running , squatting.
2.You need to strengthen your thigh muscles through static quadriceps exercises.
3. Tablet Diacerin one daily will be helpful, it will increase cartilage healing.
4. If pain is severe than take Tablet Etoricoxib one daily .
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if you want to ask any further questions.
Thanks
