What Causes Constant Tiredness?

I am unusually tired even though I sleep 10 hours per night. I checked the symptoms for diabetes but I have only the one out of 10. I am 86 years old and have had very little sickness and could work well every day but now I am so tired. What might my problem be?

Thanks for contacting HCM

From your question I understand that you have been having weakness and being tired easily. This is a very common problem and one that has many possible causes. In my practice I see people with fatigue and to discover the cause I usually need to take a complete history and perform additional labs and EKG. Some of the causes could be low blood counts, thyroid problems or diabetes, or heart and circulation problems. I would recommend that you see your doctor.
