What Causes Constipation After A Hemorrhoid Rupture?

Last Sunday night, I had a combination of heat exhaustion, food poisoning, and toxic chemical exposure. I ended up with a night of throwing up and diarrhea so strong that it ripped open an internal hemorrhoid. I bled out about 2 cups of blood. Do I know how to have fun or what? Since then, I haven't been able to have a bowel movement.What does this mean and what can I do. I've tried suppositories, olive oil, and also tried to eat regular good and drink lots of water.

Any advice?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Constipation is not caused by hemorrhoid rupture. In case of internal hemorrhoids, there can be pain and it would prevent passing stools due to sphincter spasm.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol, avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Eat high fiber diet, drink plenty of water. Keep your stool always soft.

You have to consult your surgeon, he will do proctoscope and treat you accordingly.
