What Causes Constipation And Stomach Pain?

My stomach is really hard and hurts. I had a bowel movement this AM and I took a laxative on Tuesday. I have a lot of scar tissue and a number of years ago I had pain (worse than this) and had surgery because scar tissue was wrapped around my bowel. Should I go to the emergency room?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion the stomach is hard due to bloating. I suggest :

-Take Simethicone medications for the bloating.
-Take antacids for the stomach.
-Use acetaminophen for the pain.

In case you don't feel better go to the emergency room.
