Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Constipation, Bloating Post Gall Bladder, Appendix Removal?
female aged 60, had gall bladder removed, followed a few weeks later by removal of appendix, caecum, ilieal valve and a bit of bowel each side. I ve recovered from initial frequent diarrhoeia. Since then for last 2 years I have periods of constipation and bloating followed by several days passing 4-5 stools of more or less normal consistency, still with bloating, and feeling fairly grim. What s the likely cause?
I think this may be caused by a partial obstruction of the bowel from massive surgery you had. I think you may need a colonoscopy to evaluate the bowel passage. Get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
