What Causes Cough With Yellow Mucus And Severe Cold After Taking Amiodarone 200 Mg Tablet?

Hi. My 57 year old husband had cardiac arrest on 5/20, no MI, had CABG X4 on 6/4, and is on Amiodarone 200mg bid, decreasing to qday next Thursday. He is developing a cough productive of clear to yellowish mucus and is wanting to take OTC med for that. I left his cardiologist a message Friday morning and did not hear back from them. We just purchased Coricidin HBP Maximum strength Flu (BTW, he has HTN but extremely controlled and is actually on the lower side since surgery) and NyQyil Severe Cold & Flu. What I see on the internet is that either of these is probably okay to take short term. We will NOT combine the 2. Comments?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
His cough with yellow mucus and cold has no relation with amiodarone.
It is due to upper respiratory tract infection.

You can take coricidine HBP. It contain antihistaminic drugs.

No need to take NyQyil because both are same type of drug.
