i had a tonsillectomy a week ago and every once in awhile when I cough I produce thick blood mucus, when I look in my mouth it seems to be running down the back of my throat not where the tonsills were taking out but the back of the throat should I be concerned?
hello, thanks for your query, tonsillectomy normally done under general anesthesia, where tube introduced throuh throat into trachea . while intorduction of tube there could be small injury which is showing mucus and blood. please inform your surgeon for proper evaluation and treatment. all the best. take care.
