What Causes Cramps And Discomfort And Delayed Periods?
My last period was on the 23rd of october. I have been on and off the pill between months. I took them for the month of September but none for October. I had unprotected sex on the 8th day of my cycle in october. My period has not yet arrived and its pass due however I feel slight cramps and discomfort. I m wondering if my cycle could have changed due to the on and off of the pills or cause of antibiotics I have been taking (metronidazol klion Denver and bar-doxy) please help
Antibiotics or Metronidazole will not alter your cycle; however due to your irregularities in administering birth control pills, your menstrual cycle will definitely get disturbed.
Most important is that you had unprotected sexual intercourse on day 8 of the cycle, which is a borderline day for fertile window. Fertile window is a period of about one week around the egg release day (ovulation). Ovulation takes place 14 days prior to the next expected menses.
I would suggest you to confirm the pregnancy status by either of the following options:
1. Perform Beta hCG test on the blood 10 days after the unprotected intercourse; i.e. any day after day 18 of your cycle.
2. Alternatively, you may opt for pregnancy test on overnight morning first urine sample a week after the missed period; earlier the test may report false negative results.
I am sure, this should provide you solution to your dilemma.
