What Causes Dark And Hard Stool While Giving Nan-Pro 2?

Hi there. Is it necessary to move from nan 1 to nan 2? My baby has just turned 6 months, he was settled on nan 1. We have started adding nan 2 to his feed but even adding 1 scoop makes his stool go dark and hard. He has started on solids and enjoys the veg I m giving him. Thanks for your help.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

A healthy infant can remain on Nan 1 beyond 6 months old. Stools may change when going from one formula to another. When you decide to change him back to Nan 1, it is important to continue advancing his solids. You can give your baby Nan 1 until his first birthday, then change to whole cow's milk.

I hope this is useful. Please return if you have more questions.
