What Causes Dark And Loose Stools Along With Lower Abdominal Cramps?
Hi - I have been having very dark, loose stool with lower abdominal cramping, sometimes to the point of doubling over. I've noticed in the past 2 months that my thighs ache severely and in the past few weeks the aching is going all the way down my legs to my shins. I mentioned this to my Dr. on more than one occasion he he keeps telling me is menstral cramps... I'm 39, I know what cramps feel like. This isn't just during my cycle. Please help, I'm getting frustrated with being in pain all the time.
Leg and back pain are may be due to anemia, probably blood loss through stools. Other possibilities of leg and back pain are anxiety, excessive intake of caffeine and restlessness leg syndrome.
Get examined stool for blood, Hb and sugar levels. Please consult your physician, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hello, Dark stools with Diarrhea maybe seen in bacillary or amoebic dysentery. Other possibilities like upper gastrointestinal bleeding may cause dark brown stools. Inflammatory bowel problems, irritable bowel syndrome also cause dark stools. Leg and back pain are may be due to anemia, probably blood loss through stools.
