What Causes Dark Brown Vaginal Bleeding Post Sexual Intercourse?

Hello, I am a 21 year old female and I had sex for the first time with my fiance 2 months ago. 4 Days after our first intercourse i had my period, the difference with this period was that it was dark, thick and brown. At first i thought it was just old blood that was left over from the breaking of the hymen, but it is now the second time i am having my period, and the texture of the blood is still dark pasty brown. I would really appreciate it if anyone can clarify what is going on with me?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

At times, sexual contact can trigger the period and it can occur early and different from the usual period, so I would not really worry about this too much. If at all your next period is also disturbed or different from the usual, then it might be worth reporting this to your doctor. But in my opinion, there is nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
