What Causes Dark Purple Spot On Tonsils With Yellowish Color At The Back Of Throat?

I have had a sore throat for a couple of weeks went to the doctor they gave me medicine for strep throat seem to take the soreness away but today I looked in the mirror and I have a dark purple spot on one of my tonsils and the back of my throat is kind of yellowish

Hi,

The dark purple spot on one of your tonsils and having back throat yellowish is due to infection. Only one course of antibiotics won't help. I advise to culture throat swab in order to determine the right antibiotic to use.

Throat gargles with warm water and salt together with lemon are also advised.

Take 1 teaspoon of olive oil and honey on daily basis.
