What Causes Dark Urination While On Folic Acid?

Hello, I started taking folic acid 5mg a day, my urine turned yellow and sometimes dark, it used to be very clear, I have heard that this supplement has this affect.... I have stopped taking it, how long before my urine becomes normal again, thank you

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Folic acid is generally used in combination with B complex Vitamin. Some patients do complain of the change in the color of their urine. You need to take plenty of water when you take medications. Take water in sufficient amount your urine will return to its normal color. You can continue taking folic acid tabs after that. But if your urine shows the same color, you better go for a R/E urine examination to rule out any other cause.
