What Causes Darker Stool And Blood In Vomiting After Treated Arthritis?
One year back, my father was suffering with severe stomach pain at upper portion. His stool was changed into dark brown and continued 3 days. After 3rd day, He vomited 2 lumps of mass with blood. He had gone unconscious stage. He was treated with nearest general physician. His HGB was downed to 2.5 itself. After blood donation he was saved. But his HGB was again lowering, now 6.5 . From yesterday, his stool again changed into brown in color. His stomach had little pain yesterday. Today, There is no stomach pain but stool was dark brown.
His age is 48 years and he was medicated longer time with pain killer for arthritis. Please suggest me for proper cause and treatment.

The possible cause here is intestine bleed from chronic ulcer in stomach or duodenum due to long term intake of pain killer tablets.
Management includes intensive work up to find out the root cause with its intensity via upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and basic lab tests.
