What Causes Darkness In The Fingers And Nails?

My father is in the hospital. When he went to the hospital the tips of his fingers and toe nails have turned very dark. I was told that this is the result of the blood pressure medication used to raise my father s very low blood pressure. Will this clear up? Thanks

Hello
Usually dark bluish color of peripheral part of body means fingers and toe ( of limbs ) caused by atherpsclerosis ( stopping ) of blood vessels .
However reason of stopping of blood supply may be drugs ,may be disease ( blockage of arteries ).
Now about your question "will this discoloration clear up"?
It depend on many factors:
If part concerned is not dead it will recover and get its original color .
If permanent damage it will nor resume its color.
So treating doctor can tell you exact thing.
Good luck.
