What Causes Deep, Burning Pain In The Lower Back Above The Coccyx Of A Person With Lower Lumbar Spinal Stenosis?
I have lower lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylyothosis, herniating disks. Im scheduled for a fusion surgery on June 15. Lately, i have this deep, burning pain in my lower back--right above my tailbone--that not only feels burning and stabbing, but also like a bad toothache. The toothache feeling is also often in my right hip and right leg. What is this?
- Lumbar stenosis is a narrowing of your spinal canal which causes compression of nerves in the region - Nerves to your leg originate in the region and go down past your hip to your leg - In lumbar stenosis, changes in posture often cause compression of these nerves causing the pain to be referred to the hip and leg. It is likely that the surgery will help relieve these symptoms too - Have you been diagnosed with osteo-arthritis at any point?
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
