What Causes Dehydration Along With Body Ache And Fatigue?

I am a 58 year old male, 185 pounds, good health, active lifestyle. I over-did it last Saturday with outside chores and believe I became dehydrated. Saturday evening I had very achy shoulders and chest, fatigue. I go through this about once every spring until I start thing better, so it s not new to me. What s different this time is Saturday night I had to get up 4-5 times to urinate as opposed to maybe once. The urine was clear and copious. Fatigue continued on through Monday, and I had to rest most of the day Monday.I ve been sleeping well, I ve been drinking water and sport drink, but Tuesday and Wednesday, my urine is very dark and not plentiful. Is this likely just not drinking enough still? What is this? The achy shoulders and chest are fine now, moderate fatigue Tuesday and Wednesday - nothing I can t deal with.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Fatigue is happening when there is infection, inflammatory process, even if it is the allergic condition, increase urine frequency may happens in these condition, apart from these the symptoms could be nonspecific if this no more there but in the second episode if this ever happens again then it has to be brought to investigations, till then it nothing to worry, Urinary tract infection could be possible cause, increase the water intake although it is less common in male still one must keep the eye open, for UTI, or cystitis, stone condition, I would advise you to get done the routine tests like routine hemogram, urine test, and Plasma glucose test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
