What Causes Delay In Period?

I had sex he did not ejaculate but I had a doubt we had protection too still I took ipill with in 24hrs..my last period was on 30jan I took ipill on 7feb morning, as on 6th Feb we had sex..and sooner on 12th Feb I had bleeding which continued 5days..which was due to the I pill. Now its march yet I didn t had my periods but had all symptoms like endometrium shedding,acne,back ache.. What should I do? I did HCG test too its negative but period not yet . Please help

Hello,

Firstly, you did not need any additional protection since you were in the safe period during the intercourse. Ovulation occurs two weeks prior to the onset of the next period. Secondly, the emergency contraceptive pill has high hormone content and hence causes hormone disturbances. This can delay the next natural period by a week or two. This is the most likely reason for your delayed period. Please get a clinical evaluation if you become overdue for ten days. Please restrict the use of emergency pills to one or two occasions per year.
