What Causes Delayed Menstrual Cycle Inspite Of Having Negative Pregnancy Tests?

Hello Doctor, I haven t started my periods yet. But I do have all premenstrual symptoms like cramps, tiredness. I feel it is about to start since due date, but nothing. I have mild cramps all day and unusual white thick fluid and watery discharge now and then. I am 11 days late, 3 home test shows negative. Please help me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

According to my knowledge, menstrual cycles can get irregular and delayed, it very common. It should not be of any worry, you only need to visit your gynecologist if your cycle gets delayed too often or it keeps getting delayed by months which could happen in polycystic ovarian disease. Also, I would advise you to get an ultrasound scan just to be 100% sure about the negative pregnancy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
