Hallow Dear,

You are a married sexually active woman in a childbearing age group. So missing a period should be considered as pregnancy unless and until proved otherwise.

Current periodicity of your periods is 30-32 days. Your had periods 40 days ago; so your periods are delayed by about a week. You had performed pregnancy test on 21st February; i.e. 3 days after missed period which is too early. It takes about a week after the missed period for the urine pregnancy test to report reliable results; earlier they may report false negative results.

Since now it is a week after the missed period, you may repeat the pregnancy test on overnight morning first urine sample. By this time pregnancy test on urine would be reliable. Alternatively, you may opt for Beta hCG test on your blood. These tests will detect whether you are pregnant or not.

After the confirmation from the result(s) of the test(s), you may report Gynaecologist for further management.

I hope this helps you to sort out your dilemma.
