What Causes Delayed Period With Fluttering Heart Beat?

i am 48 years old and a year ago my daughter and i got hit head on by a school bus and within 3 1/2 months i fell and tore my shoulder in 3 places and after that i stopped my period. my doctor gave me medicine and i started but just one time then i kept feeling like i was gonna start my period but it never has happened and that was june 2011 so just within the past week i got a flu bug and then i notice my heart seem to flutter. i have a ob gyn appt november 14, 2011. Is this part of menopause?
