What Causes Delayed Period?

hello, i had sex 29th of march, 3 days after, i had some bleeding, am not sure it was menstrual or not. now am expected to see my period bythis wednesday, if i count from the previous bleeding, but its late, my breast are tender bigger, i have also done a pregnancy test which came out negatively. but i feel as if am pregnant, please help me and tell me what could be wrong

Hallow Dear,

It seems you have performed pregnancy test too early. These tests on urine are reliable only a week after missed period; earlier they may report false negative results.

It is not clear from your query by how many days your periods are delayed. Sometimes delay in menses also can cause soreness in the breasts due to raised levels of hormone.

Please repeat the pregnancy test on overnight morning first urine sample after 4 days. Alternatively, you may opt for Beta hCG test on your blood. It will give you confirmation of your pregnancy status.

It seems the bleeding you had 3 days after your intercourse was a Mittelschmerz. Mittelschmerz is some amount of bleeding (may be associated with some pain) occurring at the time of egg release. You may safely ignore it and watch further.
