Hi! I can understand your concern for the delayed period following emergency contraception using Positnor-2.
Taken within 72 hours following an unprotected intercourse, Positnor-2 (Levonorgestrel containing emergency contraception pill) can prevent pregnancy in up to 90% of the users. So, delayed period could be due to an early pregnancy as that may occur in 10% of the users. A home pregnancy test done will rule out the possibility of pregnancy. Positnor-2 is generally safe. However it can cause irregular bleeding or spotting until your next period. It is also known to cause delayed period as one of its side effect. If your period is more than 5 days late you should contact your gynecologist for proper evaluation to rule out hormonal imbalance, stress or emotional upset.
Hope this answers your query.
