Thank you for your query.

Would you please clarify a few things for me?
1) You mentioned that your periods are regular? When was your period due?
2) have you taken and home pregnancy tests?

The Menstrual cycle can be divided into three phases. The follicular phase (starts from day 1 of your menstrual flow) , where both ovaries have multiple follicles that develop eventually leading to one dominant follicle that releases its egg.
This then becomes the ovulation phase which last for a day.
After releasing the egg, what's left of the follicle(corpus lutuem- luteal phase) secretes progesterone that prepares the uterus for a possible implantation, should conception occur.

All these phases are regulated by the cyclical production of hormones.
the first phase, mostly constant in duration, may vary due to factors that affect the level of estrogen (ovarian cysts, PCOD, stress, thyroid imbalances, overweight, underweight, major lifestyle changes, sudden weight gain/loss).

Ovulation depends on whether there is enough estrogen to support the release of the egg (after a surge in the luteinizing hormone). Once ovulation occurs, the corpus luteum has a fixed period in which it secretes progesterone.
If there is no pregnancy, the corpus luteum dissolves and progesterone rapidly decline bringing the onset of menstruation. This luteal phase is constant for a given woman ( it may vary between women, range of 10 -14 days is normal)

Ovarian cysts may prolong the follicular phase and prevent/delay ovulation, or interfere with luteal phase (prevent dissolution of the corpus luteum).
Large cysts may cause pelvic pain.
Pregnancy may occur if intercourse has been timed around the ovulation phase (from approximately 3 days before to about 24 hrs after ovulation occurs).
Applying this to you, if you have had regular cycles of about 30 days, you were in the safe period on 24 jan. However, if your ovulation was delayed due to any of the reasons mentioned above, your symptoms could occur.

If you are late by more than 10 days, I would advice a home pregnancy test. If negative, I recommend you see your OBGYN to rule out any treatable causes.

If it is a simple cyst

In the meantime , if you have sever pain ( localized to one side), increased vaginal bleeding, fever, vomiting, go to the ER right away. This may be a complicated Ectopic pregnancy.

Hope this helps/
