Hallow Dear,

Since you had sexual contacts on the day of ovulation and around, the possibility of pregnancy is very high. However, let me inform you that ovulation takes place only once in a cycle and hence it happens only on one day.

Your periods are delayed by just one day. It is unlikely to have any symptoms like frequent urination, nausea & vomiting and breast symptoms due to pregnancy so early in pregnancy. These all symptoms start after about a week of the missed period.

With history of pain in abdomen and back with frequent urination, I would advise you to get urine examination for any evidence of infection or crystals. Infection can be treated with antibiotics while crystals will require further investigations for stone.

Pain on the stomach area could be due to hyperacidity which can be relieved by some antacids like Pantoprazole. Avoid spicy diet and restrict to bland diet only.

The mood swings can be due to premenstrual syndrome also if you are not pregnant. Pregnancy is not a cause for such moodiness.

You can confirm the status of pregnancy by:

1. Beta hCG test: Values more than 25 mIU/ml are diagnostic of pregnancy while in non-pregnant state, they ate below 5 mIU/ml.

2. After about a week, if you do not get menses, you may test overnight morning first urine sample for pregnancy; done earlier, these tests may report false negative.

Please report to your doctor for the current symptoms for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
