What Causes Depression Post Losartan Intake?

Hi I take 50 mg doxepin for many years and doing great on it helps anxiety and depression a lot My Dr just prescribed Losartan 50 mg and I have been taking several days now. Since then starting to feel a little down and edgy quick to anger could this be from the medicine causing some depression? Thanks for your help!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is not any scientific evidence base that Losartan is related to depression. Even though Losartan can cause sleep problems which can lead in depression. I suggest you to consult your doctor for an alternative medication if the symptoms continue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
