my son will be turning two years old next week. however, he still cannot speak. he only speaks "ma," "da," "se" and such mono syllables. He understands simple commands and communicates to us through actions regarding what he wants-- points to the water dispenser when he's thirsty, points to the TV when he wants it turned on, points to the chickens, etc. Is he developmentally delayed or should I suspect something more serious? When should I have him evaluated? What kind of pediatrician should I go to? In case it matters, I delivered him normally at 7 months, he was incubated for about 10 days. I was on the contraceptive pill for three months before I realized I was pregnant with him. I was 29 years old when I had him. Thanks!
