hi, can young children aged 10 yrs old get bowel cancer my younger brother has had blood in his poo for a week and has been having dhiorreah too, he has been to a doctor and they are going to have tests what are the chances of im having bowel cancer??

BLOOD AND LOSSE STOOLS IN CHILDREN ARE USUALLY CAUSED BY BACTERIAL INFECTIONS OF THE GUT. THEY ARE VERY MILD AND CAN BE EASELY TREATED BY ORAL ANTIBIOTICS. IF THERE ARE NO OTHER SYMTOMS LIKE SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT LOSS >10%, DECREASED APPETITE, ETC THEN THE CHANCES OF BOWEL CAMCER ARE PRACTICALLY NIL , AS OTERWISE ALSO BOWEL CANCERS ARE VERY VERY RARE IN CHILDREN
