What Causes Diarrhea And Bloody Stool With Weight Loss?

Hi, my father (70 y) has diarrea and weight loss for about one month and he has blood in his stool. his cousin already had colon cancer which is treated now. his bloos exams encluding tumur factors are normal. his DR. advised colonoscopy for him, but the day befor the exam that he should eat no solid foods, his body has weakened and he had ague (it might be due to his high stress), so his DR. postponed the exam. now he is really frightened from the exam. he also has heart problem. what should I do?

its worth doing the colonoscopy.
colon cancer definitely needs to be ruled out.
take it easy, the procedure will be easy ( as we have easier scopes).
i hope it turns out to be all good.
