What Causes Diarrhea And Vomiting?

My husband, who NEVER gets sick, threw up violently last night. Twice. Some diaherra, but mainly violent, uncontrolled vomiting. Episodes were roughly 2 1/2 hours apart, the second time after drinking a little water. We were at a family gathering and all eating the same food except for deer Jerky, which was freshly smoked. I do not know how the rest of the family is feeling because it is still early morning. I suggested he drink water but it seemed to bring on another episode.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

He may be suffering from food poisoning or acute gastrentritis. Drink plenty of liquids, use ORS liquids and soft diet.

If vomiting is severe then he can take tablet zofer. Consult your physician for prescription. If symptoms does not improve then please consult your physician who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
