What Causes Diarrhea Post Application Of Essential Oils On The Feet?

I have been putting a couple of drops of citronella essential oil mixed with coconut oil on the bottoms of my feet each night for a couple of weeks. Now I have had diarrhea for a few days and I am wondering if it could be my body detoxifying or if it is a flu bug? Any ideas?
