Hi there.
Thanks for posting your query in HCM. I am Dr. Aliem, and I am pleased to answer your query.
Pain just below ribs on the right side has many causes.
Cholecystitis, i.e. inflammation of
gall bladder is one among them. Gall stones is among the common causes of this condition. If this is confirmed, laparoscopic or open
cholecystectomy (surgical removal of your gall bladder) gives you a cure.
Diarrhea that persists after colonic
polypectomy may mean that you have polyps in other parts of your bowel, like
small intestine.
I suggest you to consult your gastroenterologist, who may order an ultrasound scan of your abdomen, which is good enough to detect cholecystitis and gall stones, if any. If your re-look
colonoscopy is also normal, then you may need certain special investigations like CT enterography or double balloon
enteroscopy to screen your small intestine for polyps. If detected, they can be removed through enteroscope.
I also suggest you to strictly comply with the screening plan for cancer colon suggested by your gastroenterologist.
I also would like to congratulate you for your decision to stop smoking.
Hope this helps. Feel free to post further queries if any. If you have no further queries, please give your feed back.
Regards. Dr. Aliem MD.,
