Antibiotics can change the intestinal bacterial flora due to killing of some of the useful bacteria hence cause gases, burps that taste like boiled or rotten eggs and also can have loose stools. Intestinal infection also has to be ruled out. SInce you have started diarrhea after a course of an antibiotic, I would advise your the following: Get stool tested as well as blood. Start taking probiotics, bananas, yogurt, activated charcoal tablets and see if this helps. If the stool and blood sample shows infection, consult your Doctor to get started on appropriate prescription based antibiotics and metronidazole as may be required. Take plenty of boiled and cooled water and have soft homemade diet only; no outside food. Take rest and if the condition persists visit the hospital as you may need intravenous therapy of IV fluids and antibiotics.
