i found blood in urine. it was almost like blood as it appears reddish. before i found it i had faced difficulties in passing urine, pain which starts from deep, and also could not pass it fully. so every 5 minute i had to go toilet. the urge did not go completely. i still have to go toilet frequently and i could not hold it even for few seconds.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the issue of difficult urination with hematuria indicates possible calculus in the urinary system or heavy urological infection with E.Coli or other bugs.
* Primary care before approaching to GP

- plenty of liquids
- cranberry pills if no history of sensitivity
- tablet Tylenol 3 times a day after meals
- avoid sex if active

* Secondary steps to discuss at GP office

- needs of urine microscopy and culture report
- need for prescription of antibiotics and urinary alkalisers for a speedy and smooth recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
