What Causes Difficulty In Having A Bowel Movement?

Im 39 yrs old, I weigh 175 lbs. I had a hysterectomy 5 days ago with the di vinci robotic. I have not had a bowel movement and Iam very uncomfortable to where I cant sleep. My stomach is a bit swollen looks like I swallowed a soft ball, which I was told could happen. Ive been passing gas like crazy, I thought I had a bowel movement when I passed gas but it was a large amount of mucus with what looks like a touch of blood in it..Is this normal?
